Thought Leaders have forgotten to answer how. And its annoying!
Not All Thought Leaders, obviously! I follow some amazing people that absolutely show you how to do things, knowing that it builds trust and potentially leads to working together. And of course, some things have to be “behind the paywall”.
And then there are the rest. Maybe its my feed, maybe its just that there are so many more of them. Coaches, trainers and wannabe thought leaders that tell you things like
- Vision is important, you have to communicate it
- Delegation is important, free your day up
- Culture must be aligned with Vision
Yeah, buddy, we knew that already, wanna give me any hints and tips on how to do that?
So here is our commitment at SOAR. We promise to always post things you can learn from, take and execute if you want to, without ever needing to contact us for more. Sure, there is more, and we’d love to work with you on it. But let’s do more helping each other get ahead, and less, wiffle waffle with all the latest buzzwords and no value!
Today’s tip takes that last point. Culture comes from Leading By Example. We all know the organizations that say one thing in their Value Statement, and do the complete opposite when the rubber hits the road.
A simple framework to keep in mind is, Say what you do, and do what you say. Then encourage others to behave the same way.
Some of your team will thrive in that environment, some will work hard to achieve the same results and some will not buy in. Then you can start to hire looking for the traits you want in your culture to strengthen it even more.
